Within the Research Line III: Urban and Heritage Dimension of Distributed Energy of the STEP project, it has been proposed the application of methods and tools for the evaluation of impacts related to “cultural heritage” through an iterative pairwise comparison, in order to assess the sensitivity of historical sites to photovoltaic installations.
This method promotes the characterization and study of the suitability, location and feasibility of installations, from the energy communities and local administrations, with a view to territorial and social innovation in the framework of the energy transition in the Iberian Peninsula.
The paper “Using pair-wise comparison to identify visually sensitive townscapes in the context of Heritage Impact Assessment” was presented on August 28, 2024, at the 35th International Geographical Congress organized by the International Geographical Union (IGU) in Dublin, Ireland.
Dr. Miguel Torres García (photo) presented the paper prepared together with Dr. Mariana Giusti and with the research support of Sclgo. Daniel Ramos.
