Within the framework of the STEP project, and through its specialist members belonging to the IAPH, we have participated in the conference “Historical Heritage and Renewable Energies: reflections for a challenge”, on June 26 and 27, 2024 at the Baluarte Conference Center, Pamplona.

We attended an update on the debate about the generation and application of interventions that integrate heritage with Renewable Energies, mainly in experiences and criteria that have been adapted to the needs of energy saving and efficiency, considering the specificities that mark the protected buildings, ensembles and landscapes.

With a view to our research, we have identified policies adopted in different territories similar to Spain, technical issues developed in each case and the management of these projects in the heritage field, in order to understand what are the challenges and limitations of the energy transition that is sought for the coming years. We have identified not only successful cases, but also the application of good practices, testimonies and action from the administration, private enterprise and civil society.

Undoubtedly, the team has been able to benefit from a conference that promotes information on local contexts and the transfer of knowledge for this topic.
